Devlog 1 - Updates

First Update
So, I was bored on a long flight and decided to work a bit on the game, which lead to this update :D
Since I posted the game I mostly receive the following feedback:
- The game felt a bit too crowded
- Starting off with all the sheep spawned was a bit too much (which was probably the primary factor to the crowding feeling)
- Losing was a bit too sudden with no way to check the score
Now onto what changed.
Visuals
- Cool rotating background added
- Changed a bit the visuals on the boost (The particles and now the player becomes a bit more transparent)
- Blood Splatters when you kill a sheep that persist until you close the game
- Some spark particles when placing a block/fence pin
- Added an semi transparent line between last spawned pin/fence block and player
- Added a small tooltip in the tutorial
Gameplay
- Now the boost also allows you to dodge your own blocks/fence pins instead of bouncing back
- A button to clear all spawned blocks/fence pins
- Before when you boosted you couldn’t turn. Now you can
- Now, when you start the game, only a few sheep start spawned and the number increases overtime
- Controller Support + “AWSD” support + Arrows support
- Sheep movement improved (Now they distance themselves from each other) (Not the best yet)
UI
- Added a Score menu at the end of the game showcasing the score you got during the run
Tutorial
- Replaced old tutorial Inspiration: Hyper Jump by Edgar Mendoza
Miscellaneous
- Decreased the size of the blocks/fences pin
- Number of blocks/fences that can be spawned at once increased
- Tiny improvement in the sheep and patches of grass spawning position (Now, not too close the the edge)
- When you lose, it now starts a small slow motion animation and zooms in on the dead sheep
Bug Fixes
- Sometimes when completing a fence if you were colliding with a block/fence pin it wouldn’t dispawn
- If you placed a block/fence pin while boosting you suddenly changed directions. Not anymore
Available Platforms
- Added build for Windows, Linux and Mac
And that is that for stuff added. I also already received the feedback that, maybe due to the small pallet chosen and the newly added elements to the game, sometimes its hard to distinguish some of the objects on the screen.
Features that I would like to end, maybe in the future
- Main Menu
- Tutorial adapt if using controller
- Improve UI (Score and Lives)
- Better Transition between screens
- Improve sheep behavior
- Add fullscreen mode
- Improve boost (variable duration/charges/cooldown)
- Music
That is all folks, hope you liked it, hope you enjoy it and every bit of feedback is welcomed. Yours Truly, A Really Okey Fruit
